LunA DC Power Supply Scoops Double Award

Our LunA dedicated DC power supply has picked up not one but two awards this month from prestigious hi-fi magazines.

Firstly, it was reviewed by Ed Selley for The Ear who gave it a 5 star review. He was impressed with how the LunA takes the strengths of your Vertere record player and improves them instead of dramatically altering the sound that you already love.

“Crucially, the LunA shares an attribute I’ve seen in all Vertere components. At no stage does it alter the fundamental balance of the MG-1. It doesn’t become ‘faster’ or ‘smoother’, it simply frames the abilities that presumably encouraged you to buy the turntable in the first place that little bit better.”

Ed was also surprised at how close the LunA and Tempo combination could get to the Imperium motor drive. “it’s hard to argue that this isn’t a huge chunk of what that larger motor drive can do at a more accessible price. I also suspect that the effect it can have on the DG-X will be significant too. The LunA ensures that the massive potential of the MG-1 is that little bit easier to exploit, even when things are a bit tricky”.

Just two weeks later, the LunA picked up another 5 star review. This time from Neville Roberts of Hi-Fi Choice who also gave it the Hi-Fi Choice ‘Editor’s Choice’ award.

Neville describes how the LunA brings out more clarity from the recording and better focuses the soundstaging.

“Playing Love Me by Elles Springs from one of Vertere’s audiophile LPs, shows off excellent clarity of the vocals and guitar. I replace the Challenger power supply with the LunA and am aware of more clarity from the vocals and more focussed instrument positioning.”

He later goes on to say “Listening to JS Bach’s Prelude And Fugue in D major BWV 538 with Peter Hurford on organ, the individual notes of this powerful performance have greater clarity and crescendos more authority and authenticity. Bass notes reveal extra power and there’s far greater headroom on show.” and he concludes the piece by stating “The LunA is a splendid example of what can be achieved with an upgrade and I consider it to be an extremely worthwhile option for the money”.

We are thrilled to have received two great reviews for the LunA and you can read the full reviews via the links below.
