DG-X and Phono-1 LX Win What Hi-Fi? Awards Yet Again
We’re delighted to announce that the DG-X and Phono-1 LX have both been named winners at the 2026 What Hi-Fi? Awards, extending an unbroken run of success to a seventh consecutive year.
The DG-X took the title of ‘Best Turntable over £3,500’ while the Phono-1 LX was named ‘Best Phono Stage over £1,000’. Both products have now been recognised by What Hi-Fi?’s expert reviewers every year since 2020 when they started life as the DG-1 and Phono-1.
Every What Hi-Fi? winner has to prove itself in extended listening from the team. To have the DG-X and Phono-1 LX do that year after year and come out on top is something we’re enormously proud of. It reflects a design philosophy we’ve never compromised on, and the dedication of the team who build each product by hand.
The DG-X wowed What Hi-Fi? When it was first reviewed in 2025. Reviewer Kashfia Kabir concluded “The DG-X turntable package is a bold, mature step forward that combines clever engineering, stylish build and its innate rhythmic abilities in a thrilling way.” A year on, that verdict still stands, and the DG-X has earned another win at the What Hi-Fi? Awards. This is the 2nd award for the DG-X carrying on from the DG-1 and DG-1S before it.
The Phono-1 LX is the latest Vertere product to be released. What HiFi? got to review it earlier this year and gave it 5 stars in every category with reviewer Ketan Bharadia proclaiming “The Phono-1 LX sets new standards for the price, delivering a class-leading combination of insight, dynamic punch and finesse”.
We’re thrilled to see the DG-X and Phono-1 LX recognised again. Our thanks goes to the team at What Hi-Fi? for honouring us with this pair of prestigious awards.
